Last October, the increase in the metro managed to destabilize the resignation that citizens had maintained for the last 30 years in the face of a State that was increasingly lost in its role of developing social welfare policies. The promise of joy raised with the return of democracy was far from being fulfilled, on the contrary, the neoliberal system established in dictatorship increased the social gaps and with them the discontent of a people.

This resulted in a series of protests at the national level, transforming the streets into spaces of struggle, where the common slogan was DIGNITY.

This is a series of photographs taken during the early hours after the marches, where I walk through the streets surrounding Plaza Dignidad to portray the vestiges of the clashes that took place between civilians and the armed forces during the months of October 2019 and March 2020, which had As a consequence, 34 deaths and 460 eye injuries at the hands of state agents. In this work, the territory functions as a container of historical memory, where the footprint reveals the socio-political chaos that the country is going through.

En octubre pasado el alza del metro logró desestabilizar la resignación que la ciudadanía había mantenido estos últimos 30 años frente a un Estado cada vez más perdido en su rol de desarrollar políticas de bienestar social. La promesa de alegría planteada con el retorno de la democracia estuvo lejos de ser cumplida, al contrario, el sistema neoliberal instaurado en dictadura, aumentó las brechas sociales y con ellas el descontento de un pueblo.

Esto trajo como consecuencia una serie de protestas a nivel nacional, transformando las calles en espacios de lucha, donde la consigna común era DIGNIDAD.

Esta es una serie de fotografías realizada durante las madrugadas posteriores a las marchas, donde recorro las calles aledañas a Plaza Dignidad para retratar los vestigios de los enfrentamientos que hubo entre civiles y fuerzas armadas durante los meses de octubre 2019 y marzo 2020, las que tuvieron como consecuencia 34 muertos y 460 heridas oculares a manos de agentes del Estado. En este trabajo el territorio funciona como contenedor de memoria histórica, donde la huella deja entrever el caos socio político que atraviesa el país.
